The WordPress team released version 6.4.1 today which is a maintenance release. If you haven’t upgraded to 6.4 yet, you’ll just jump right to this version. This release fixes four errors that were introduced in WordPress 6.4. They are:

  • #59830 – Administration: Typos in wp_admin_notice() arguments
  • #59837 – Categories are removed when bulk-editing posts
  • #59842 – WordPress 6.4 wp_remote_get (cURL error 28: Operation timed out)
  • #59846 – Reinstate the wpdb::$use_mysqli property

We’ve seen reports that some websites that use the Oxygen page builder have started crashing when they upgraded to version 6.4. We believe this release will resolve that issue, but we’ve yet to confirm.

This update is lower risk than 6.4, so we recommend upgrading – especially if you’re using version 6.4. However, if your site requires high uptime, has custom code, and/or is complex in nature, we recommend performing the upgrade on a staging site.
