Today, WordPress 6.3.1 was released this morning which is a maintenance release. The release fixes 10 bugs: 4 with the WordPress core and 6 with the WordPress block editor.
When WordPress 6.2.1 was released, it broke the use of shortcodes in the block editor, so 6.2.2 was released shortly afterward. We’ve already upgraded several sites with the new version and haven’t encountered any issues. However, as we always recommend, please ensure you have a stable backup of your website before doing any WordPress upgrade. if your site is mission-critical, you should consider upgrading on a staging server and running a regression test with key functionality.
WordPress 6.3.1 is considered a minor or maintenance release as it fixes bugs rather than adding new functionality. The next major version of WordPress is version 6.4 and is currently planned for November.
As always, if you have any questions, need help, or run into any problems with your upgrade, please reach out to us.
