Frequently Asked Questions
What types of internships do you offer?
We provide internships in web development, digital marketing, UI/UX design, and business strategy. We typically place interns in roles so they can gain hands-on experience in projects that align with their skills and career goals.
When can I apply? Are there application deadlines?
We accept applications year-round, however our positions fill quickly. To be considered for an internship role, we recommend applying by the following dates:
- Summer: May 1st.
- Fall: August 15th.
- Winter/Spring: December 1st.
Who is eligible for an internship? Can I receive course credit?
We welcome students and recent graduates who are 18 or older and have a passion for web technologies, digital marketing, and business development. Ideal candidates are eager to learn, proactive, and ready to contribute to real-world projects.
If you are in college, we can work with your school so you can receive credit for the internship. Please let your interviewer know if you need this so accommodations can be made.
Where are internships located? Is remote work possible?
All of our internships are in-person in our office in Framingham, Massachusetts. We do not offer remote internships.
Most of the time, interns will work out of our main office but interns will have the opportunity to attend events in MetroWest as well as visit client sites.
Directions to our office can be found on our About Page.
What are some of the benefits of a JVF Internship
A JVF internship isn’t about fetching coffee or sitting quietly in a corner – it’s about stepping into the real world of business and seeing how things actually get done.
Because our office is inside the same building as the MetroWest Chamber of Commerce, our interns get front‑row access to workshops, Business After Hours events, and professional development sessions happening right downstairs and throughout MetroWest. We’re also part of multiple networking groups, which means interns can sit in on real conversations, meet local leaders, and watch how entrepreneurs build relationships and make moves.
Interns also get full access to all available MarketLikeAHotshot.com courses during their internship. And, anything they request becomes theirs permanently. That’s lifetime access to marketing, branding, and business‑building training that most people pay hundreds for.
On top of that, interns receive hands‑on mentorship, opportunities to shadow real marketing and web development workflows, and the chance to practice skills in a guided, educational environment. You’re not doing busywork – you’re learning how the game is played, up close, with people who actually do this for a living.
If you’re hungry, curious, and ready to level up, this is the kind of internship that opens doors.
Are internships paid?
Our internships are unpaid. However, we partner with various organizations that will sometimes sponsor qualifying applicants. We will discuss these options and the qualifying criteria during the interview process, but these programs are typically reserved for:
- Disabled persons living in Massachusettes
- Underserved youths 25 years old or younger, that either live or attend school in one of the below communities:

What type of work will be I doing? What will I learn?
Interns are a critical part of our team so they receive mentorship and work on actual client projects. These projects help develop skills in website development, SEO, content marketing, branding strategies, and project management.
Some examples of projects that past internships have worked on:
- Websites for our clients.
- Social media posts and videos for our clients.
- Internal training materials for JVF.
- Social media posts and videos for JVF.
- Attending events and meeting prospects and clients.
- Onsite work at client sites.
Additionally, we are located in the same building as the MetroWest Chamber of Commerce so interns are often able to attend learning and networking events in our building and out in the community.
What are the hours? What are the dates? How long is the internship?
Our internships generally run 10–12 weeks and require 20–30 hours per week. During the school year (fall and spring), reduced hours (as low as 10 per week) may be available.
Interns set their schedules in advance, and hours are flexible as long as they fall within our standard business hours: Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 6 PM ET. Occasionally, interns may be invited to attend events in the evenings or on weekends, though participation is always optional.
Internships can begin at any time. However, we typically run three main sessions:
- Summer: Begins in July, usually the Monday after Independence Day
- Fall: Begins in September, usually the week after Labor Day
- Winter/Spring: Begins in January, usually the week after New Year’s Day
Please note that our office is closed on Federal and State Holidays, as well as the day after Thanksgiving.
What if I have a planned vacation? Can I still do the internship?
In most cases, planned vacations are not a problem but please let your interviewer know of any time off needed. It’s typically when vacations are longer than 10 days as that is a significant chunk of the program that it can be an issue.
What are the rules? Dress code? Policies?
We will review all rules and policies at orientation and answer any questions during the interview process.
As for dress code, it’s casual unless you’ll be attending an event with clients as those days will be business casual.
